“Without hustle, your talent will only get you so far” – Gary Vaynerchuk
Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago. — Warren Buffett
Three impactful leaders who have worked hard in many ways to reach where they are today. There are many others as well but Jack Ma, Gary Vaynerchuk and Warren Buffett have become giants in their field by following mindful steps to reach success.
This success didn’t come over night they all have different ways of reaching success and each one went threw failure of some kind. They have grown from failure and know hard work is always the key to victory.
I will be going threw a few of their quotes from their speeches which have helped many over a period of time. First I will start with Jack Ma, he is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group. Jack Ma was a former English Teacher from China and now has one of the world’s largest e-commerce businesses.
Some of his quotes has caught my attention and I will share these with you.
1 – Look at Challenges as opportunities.
This is a hard one but over time I have taken this advise and look at every single circumstance I find myself in as a beautiful opportunity.
2 – Have Fun
Have fun as life is short and we came into this world to enjoy life.
3 – Focus on Quality not Quantity
This statement could not be any truer. When we focus on producing more, quality may decrease. I have seen this with my own eyes.
3 – Be the first
This statement is special to me. We must aim to be original and the first in everything. Following the crowd does not cut it anymore in our times. We need people to stand up and not be scared to be the first.
4 – Prepare for the future
Everyone is caught up with the now. We must take small steps to prepare for the future.
5 – Respect competitors and learn from them.
This statement explains itself, respect and learn from one another. You never know what can happen.
6 – Surround yourself with greatness
If you want to be successful, surround yourself with those that have the same aim with you. Be around the goal keepers, the leaders, motivators and innovators, these energies are what you want to surround yourself with daily.
7 – It is not what company you get into, it is what boss you want to follow.
Leaders inspire people. They want to mold those around them to be the best, that way they can get the best. Not every company has a leader with this trait.
8 – Believe in yourself
If you don’t believe, how you expect anyone else to believe in you.
9 – Be optimistic about the future
Always have a positive mindset towards the future ahead.
10 – Never complain
Do not even think about it. Once you complain your mood changes.
11 – Tomorrow is new. Always show up.
Never give up and be consistent.
12 – If you have a dream. Push for it.
Never give up and dreams don’t manifest overnight.
Gary Vaynerchuk is a blogger, author, speaker and Entrepreneur. Born in the former Soviet Union in what is now Belarus. Vaynerchuk was one of the first adopters of social media to build a following that’s now a huge success. His speeches is very straight forward and paints the ugly side of Entrepreneurship, he always stresses on hard work and being prepared for failure.
Here are seven of his quotes that stood out for me.
1 – Work hard, work smart and be patient
Always work smart and have patience. Success does not come overnight.
2 – Put in the work and play the hard way.
Do not try any short cuts. Always give your all to your work and passion.
3 – If you want it work for it.
Gary Vaynerchuk stresses a lot on working hard because you cannot reach that goal without the work.
4 – Nothing in life is free, nothing happens overnight.
Everything you have you have to work for it. Success comes from consistent hard work and sacrifice.
5 – Execute your ideas
Do not just talk , do the work.
6. – Do the things that matter.
Do everything that you believe in and would have a impact in the long run.
7. – Don’t make excuses
Never make any excuse for anything. We live in a era that has so many opportunities, you just need to find a way to use it. We live in a time where our parents and grand parents would love it. We are in the time and correct place to make a difference each one of us. Wherever we are.
Warren Buffett is a business magnate, investor, speaker and and philanthropist who serves as the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is actually one of my favorites with motivational tips and has a ton of knowledge in what he does best.
Here are 10 of his quotes that stood out to me over the years.
1 – Find your passion
When you find your passion, you find your cause in life and fire will light up in your stomach to push for your goals.
2 – Hire well
Companies always need to hire passionate persons who want to help build a organisation. Not just one who wants that pay cheque.
3 – Don’t care what others think
This is a powerful one. We live in a generation where everyone cares a little to much what people think. The sad part about this is ,the person may not even be thinking of you.
4 – Read,read, read
Warren Buffet read a lot, he stated in many shows about his hours spend reading. Reading helps develop minds and brings new ideas. Plus as a aspiring writer I always try to read as much as I can, this helps with my articles.
5 – Have a margin of safety
Always have a safety net or amount to invest to draw a line. Whatever you look at this as, always have a margin of safety.
6 – Have a competitive advantage
Always try to have a upper hand in situations.
7 -You can’t make a good deal with a bad person.
Watch who you are getting your eggs in a basket with in business.
8 – Always be competing
Never get comfortable because that is the moment your completion will sneak up on you.
9 – Some things take time
Nothing happens overnight.
10 – Act with integrity
It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently. This statement is so powerful that it happens almost every day.
Each one of these leaders have a mark in the business world and they all started from scratch. They understand hard work, consistency, reading and having a passion. They used mindfulness when approaching situations and will leave legacies after them. This did not happen overnight , and each one of us can do the same. Once we practice these principles and the many others who have similar ones.
“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” – Simon Sinek
Interesting and powerful statement. I would admit I was stunned when I saw this speech, but I have to agree with the statement. Customers and Clients do not buy a product only, they buy a brand and with a brand comes a vision. I am no expert at Marketing and Leading an organization but I would like to say a lot of customers stay loyal to a brand because of the outlook and passion towards a product. It can be from a passionate marketing team that wants to push a product or they know this item is a hit.
Many customers can stray from a product and head to purchase the new line from competition and leave behind the item they once knew. So the big question is, what makes someone stay loyal to a brand. Well, I will say it comes from the inside of an organization, the loyalty the employees have and the leaders who are pushing a product. It goes all to the passion and zeal to make everyone know, we have one of the best items for you to enjoy.
The passion within a team creates results, no passion for the team creates a lot of disappointments. It all starts from the top, not the bottom, the founder of the company to the marketing team, have to ensure they know why they are in the position they are holding. A founder of a company has to ask themselves, why do my organization exist? Once this is established they must bring forth this to their employees so they can have the same vision.
Leaders challenge the status quo, they go beyond what they know and always visualize an outcome. They would give their all to ensure their product is the best, and nothing less than the best.
Leaders trust their peers and always speak out their mission, so peers would always remember the way. Leaders communicate from the inside – out and they let their passion known for what they are providing. This can allow everyone to be on board with the goals of the organization.
Leaders are to hire those that believe in what they are providing. Not just those looking for a pay cheque, although it is necessary peers need to have a passion for what they are doing. Employees are to be hired by passion-driven, not only money driven.
Leaders are there to inspire, mold and develop a team. We follow those who lead because we want to and inspired by their passion for their cause or product.
We all have to start somewhere. Make that decision today to start. Once you have the will you would find a way to start. If you are in a position in your life you do not like, do something about it. Don’t just sit and expect it to change without the push and challenge.
A lot of successful people didn’t get success overnight. They work their ass off to get where they are now. Don’t settle, don’t just take what is handed to you and be comfortable. The biggest mistake we make is being comfortable and just letting life pass by. Take that trip, start that business, move or tell that special someone you love them. Don’t be scared and hold yourself back. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest embrace it and smile.
Wonders would happen around you. When that decision is made to come out your comfort zone, to take up that challenge and have a leap of faith without fear.
What is stopping you other than you? When you have breath and life, tomorrow is never promised so make that change today. Do yourself that favor for yourself and just start.
