Do you know how we move forward in life?

Well the first step is a choice. A choice is put in front of you and depending on your decision you either move forward or stay stuck.

That choice can also make or break you. This can be a choice to break the tradition, beliefs or routine. It is going to shake your whole life up. A safe choice is not a choice as this will keep you stuck but you will feel a sense of security. As some would say to themselves. But, making a bold choice can be daughting and end up being the best decision of your life.

This can change the whole game for you. It can switch a few things in life and sometimes, we are not ready for some of it. Unfortunatly, life does not wait on us and if you have not notice time does not as well. Every day we get older and hopefully wiser based on our choices.

We learn and grow from a choice and at times it is that bold choice. That helps us mold the way forward. Decisions are never a cup of tea for me and I never envy anyone who has to make them. But I do know when someone is torn between two choices they really have to think deeply on what lies ahead. Holding back from the choice they know can help them can be unhealthy as progress may never happen within their life.

From my experience especially recently I have found the better choice is always the bolder choice but the feelings of making the choice can be tough. There can be consequences that I may have to face and of course we know the famous disappointment we have to embrace.

But in the end a choice is still left to make and most of the times. It is better to go with the choice that scares you because that is the one that will help grow, expand and embrace the fullness of life. After all isnt that what we are on earth for …… to live.

So, why are so many of us not doing this including myself, holding back.

Planning is an unnatural process; it is much more fun to do something. The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression.   –John Harvey-Jones

Surprise, surprise, surprise. This is what life is saying to me now. The feeling of things getting out of control and out of reach is overwhelming. Positive mind, positive mind, I keep saying this to myself to center my mind so it can stop thinking even for just a while.

Bong then Bang, one after the next, life keeps throwing all these curve balls at me and quite out of control with them. How am I suppose to manager all this load by myself?

Here take this, maybe you can do with a little excitement. I don’t think you have enough stress to keep you occupied. This is how I feel when life just won’t give me a break with everything because for a second everything was actually fine.

It’s winter time in most lands, where you are is too sunny let me help you with that one. Life decides to have my heart feeling ice cold as I honestly don’t know which way to turn. Here let me help you maybe you can bleed a bit by ensuring you can feel everyone pain and put yourself aside for a bit. Yes my caring nature is so wonderfully adored by all.

Take some more pain and lets top it all with a little retrogates. Yes, let me remember a time I had one of the hardest moments, by abruptly bringing up something. That seems all so familiar right.

Don’t worry I am not done yet because I know you are strong so just wait I have a lot more in store just for you.

Doesn’t it all sound so familiar, well to me it is. Life can be a roller coaster and it can seriously feel like its not on your side at times. At the end of the day, life happens and it suppose to, it only shows we are alive.

The Universe spins off from life, so when surprise, surprise events happens, let us stop and think for a while. Let us take a step back and ask ourselves what can we do now to fix this problem. If its not fixable move on.

The hardest lesson in life to learn is to keep a positive mind in all situation. It is not impossible, but it is possible to keep a calm steady mind threw it all.

When it all feels like it is tumbling down. Let us stop, breath, reflect and take a step back to center ourselves, then tackle our problems.

Much love everyone.

Want my secret to curing depression. It is no pill, no drug or therapist visits. It is an addiction called Soca music. Well let me start by saying without Soca, I would not know how to come out of a sad funk.

There are so many genres of music that is well put together but there is non like soca music. This music is from my beautiful country of Trinidad. The land of Carnival that is happening from now until the first week of March with Carnival Monday and Tuesday to put the icing on the cake.

My love for Carnival,Soca music and playing mas is one everyone who reads this and never experience has to embrace. It is one of the most freeing moments you can feel in your life. Trust me people the vybes is absolutely memorizing.

I would touch a little on two Trinidadian female soca artists that I have been listening to for many years. These two strong, independent, creative and influential women have been in the industry for many years. Over the years they have evolved in many ways and today I will give you a little background on each one.

I will start with Nadia Batson. December born Nadia began singing and writing at the age of 8. Nadia Batson who is now a singer, songwriter, and producer gained her fame when she was the runner up in the Power Category of the International Soca Monarch in 2007.

Nadia Batson joined Kes the Band in 2005 and became the leading female vocalist to the band. She toured around the world with the band and in 2011, Nadia departed Kes the Band.

Today Nadia is one of the many female soca artists that has been around for many years. Releasing songs each Carnival and around the year to keep her fans in tune with her music.

Some of my all time favorite songs of her is Manager released in 2013, catching feelings in 2018 and this year so long. All her songs are very catchy and you won’t be disappointed with her tracks.

Fayann Lyons, a female champion in the Soca music industry has been around for a while now. With many titles under her belt and known as Superblue daughter, has acquired three Trinidad and Tobago Road March and Groovy Soca Monarch Championship. She has won these in 2003, 2008 and 2009, Fayann Lyons has left her shining mark in the industry for sure.

Wife of Bunji Garlin, another Soca music champion, mother and a phenomenal artist is a member of her husband band Asylum. Songwriter of her music, Fayann has learned this from her father who has won the Road March title 9 times and Soca Monarch title 7 times. She was groomed from a young age to be a champion in this industry as she learned from one of the best.

Fayann compositions have earned her several nominations and awards from the Copyright Music Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago including female songwriter of the year and has many others from the Soca Awards organizations.

Some of my all-time favorites from her are Display( 2003 ), Get on ( 2008 ), Meet Super Blue ( 2009), Raze (2015) and this year Feel Good.

Soca music has been around since I can remember. It is the life of Carnival, it is the heart and soul of Trinidadians. We love our music but it is the feeling that makes this music so special. You would surely be winning as we say, in your seats. These two artists are very unique in there own way and making a mark in the industry today.

Much love everyone. Hope everyone enjoys a little Soca music today.

Her radiance, her beauty and her awe captured every one whenever she galloped. Layla was truly a beauty to see, her black coat made her the horse everyone was drawned towards.

Layla was a beauty since she was a filly. She caught the eyes of her owner since birth and she already knew she was her choice to own. From the time she got her she was ready to nurture Layla to be the champion she saw she could become. She would groom her daily and her shiny coat was her master piece of natural beauty.

As she grew she was trained and taught to be the best and only the best she become. She was a beauty and a beast on the race track. Growing up she even had her own personality that captured her trainers and groomers. Funky and fierce they would say, she captured everyone heart and mind from the start.

Layla received many awards for her victory in races and she was always featured on photo shoots or videos. She was the horse everyone wanted to see. She was known as the best, non was able to touch her wonder, beauty and awe. When you see her you would know she is the best.

We all have to start somewhere. Make that decision today to start. Once you have the will you would find a way to start. If you are in a position in your life you do not like, do something about it. Don’t just sit and expect it to change without the push and challenge.

A lot of successful people didn’t get success overnight. They work their ass off to get where they are now. Don’t settle, don’t just take what is handed to you and be comfortable. The biggest mistake we make is being comfortable and just letting life pass by. Take that trip, start that business, move or tell that special someone you love them. Don’t be scared and hold yourself back. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest embrace it and smile.

Wonders would happen around you. When that decision is made to come out your comfort zone, to take up that challenge and have a leap of faith without fear.

What is stopping you other than you? When you have breath and life, tomorrow is never promised so make that change today. Do yourself that favor for yourself and just start.

It will be worth it in the end.

2019 is here and it started with a bang. I know many of you are still rushing down those goals and trying to create the new year new me. Don’t worry if you haven’t done any of that as yet. Guess why?

If you guessed the New Moon, you are so correct. Astrology is new to me, but there are a few things I have learned over my short time. The moon has a effect on everything around us, its amazing how this universe is so wonderful. The universe works things out in a way, sometimes its kinda hard to resist. So this New Moon is important and its the first one for the year. That makes it even more amazing.

This new moon is a  Solor Eclipse in Capricorn. Note that 2019 is set to be a creative year in many ways and many would be reaching out to find like minded individuals. This new moon is going to have a lot of people looking deeply into their lives and examining it closely . Some of us would be asking our self some big questions like:

Is this working for me anymore?

Is this important to me anymore?

Many will find themselves looking to begin new projects, looking at new ambitions and some of us will really begin to see a transformation from everything over the years or months.

New patterns will arise and we may drop one or two of our old habits or ways and see something different or situations differently. Awakening of identity that was hidden may come out and be ready to fly.

2019 is set to be the year of building and setting those goals by creating opportunities. We may begin to connect to our emotions more and be true to ourselves.

Remember, we don’t have to figure it all out now. Lets slow down a little this year and really embrace each moment and set those goals and if we can’t even begin to wrap our mind around anything. Just breath and let it flow naturally.

If something is ending or changing with this New Moon its the correct timing. Ask yourself what is the lesson and what can I take from all of this ?

This Eclipse is Very Important so be mindful, meditate, journal, do yoga or just appreciate what the universe has to offer.

This is the time to set those intentions, start new things, plant new seeds and start fresh. Use vision boards, draw, write, journal and just be present because this is just the beginning.

From Sunday January 6th, Uranus moves direct. No more retrogrades until March 5th. Full speed ahead, so buckle your seat belts, the ride had now began.

This year went by fast, I will not even sugar coat this statement. I feel like I just ended 2017 and 2019 knocking on my door too fast. Where did the time go?

I would admit this year a lot has happened and I have also been in a rush. I have learned a lot and grown a lot as a person. I have also been in a rush a lot, I have basically been rushing everything, even to the point I decided to put my watch 20 minutes faster than the actual time.

Today I decided to have my watch right, with the right time so I wont be rushing. I am not a morning person so I am not even going to lie to myself about reaching anywhere early. If I am running late, so be it I won’t be speeding down the highway, breaking the orange light to reach ” on time” . I have been rushing , rushing , rushing away and time have just passed away.

I will embrace every moment, take each minute, hours and days with gratitude. 2019 is my year to shine, step out my comfort zone and begin to slow down. It’s not a race to the finish line.

I have no new year resolutions and have no intentions to create one. 2019 I am looking forward to new challenges, improving myself, living a full life, exploring this mysterious world, forgiving, letting go and taking everything slowly.

2018 was a rush, a beautiful rush that almost broke me . Honestly, 2018 was a tough year that had me rushing and panicking. 2019 I would not let time pass and let the clock tick away with my life.

You can feel it in your veins. You become more aware and your heart can no longer just accept what lies ahead for you. You know something has to change.

Dreams become more clearer and you can feel it in your bones that something within you wants to be awakened. You can no longer just let everything around you just pass. You start to understand life more clearer and have a better understanding of what you want from your life.

You would be determined to design the type of life you want. Signs begin to show, you begin to see a certain number more often and you begin to feel more and see situations more clearer.

This can be a beginning, a beautiful beginning but to get a beginning you need to embrace the end. Sometimes a end can be painful but it’s up to you how you take this ending journey. Signs can show up in dreams, numerology or even a random stranger. It’s the beauty about life that can be adventurous and mysterious.

It’s those moments you take to embrace what is in front of you. To love the very moment you have because it’s a blessing. Take that moment to learn from the situation and move on because everything that is happening around you and within you is your spiritual awakening moments in this life.

We have reached another year of celebration. The cheer, joy, food, drinks, music, laughter and gift giving is tradition and excitement for many. With many also take this time to reflect on the birth of a little baby boy many centuries ago.

Whatever the reason is to you, we have reached Christmas 2018 and bringing in newness into our lives. The Christmas cheer from parang music , many heading to the beaches , to church, a neighbor, family member or just taking in the moment to just relax is a delightful feeling by many. Lots are still rushing with last minute painting, changing curtains or looking to cook up a large meal for family members and friends. Ham, Turkey, Pastelles, Puncha Creme and Black Cake sharing and many enjoying a good lime is a traditional moment that never gets old. Everything is a lime in Trini style but with Christmas limes everyone wants to participate as you are guaranteed a glass of ginger beer, sorrel or Puncha Creme.

This is the time everyone comes around, you get that call from everyone to wish you a Happy Christmas. Everyone wants a taste of Grandma Black Cake because you know she has that extra special touch that makes everyone wants more and more and trust me that cake wont last more than one day.

Christmas is here and each year brings around a joy that brings everyone around. This is a taste of my Christmas, hope everyone is enjoying the cheer.
