Writing became a part of me many years ago. It is one of the many surprises I have and want to share my passion for writing to each person I meet. With my deep passion for helping people and having a special way of touching lives. Now I want to share this with everyone who can be helped, uplifted or push to reach that goal threw my writing and experience.
Once upon a time on a Christmas eve night a child was in a orphanage who never celebrated a Christmas with any family or friends. He was bullied in school and had no one to call family. Each year he will look outside and see children playing with their new toys and enjoying the precious moments with their closest family and friends.
At that moment he would ask himself would I ever be able to experience a true Christmas the way I see others. He felt lonely, depressed and completely hopeless as each year passed it was the same story. One Christmas eve night he made a wish on a star , his wish was to be happy and loved. He wanted a family, a friend, a mentor basically anyone as he never knew what love is from the start.
In school everyone would share there experience or bring gifts for one another and he would crave to know what this feeling is like. He never knew what a hug feels like, a warm smile, receiving anything from anyone or knowing about a Christmas cheer. He only knew what everyone else told him and what he saw outside that window. No one ever opened a door to him for this season as he was looked at as just a orphan.
So, each year on Christmas Eve night he made one wish. Hoping one day his wish could be granted.
The rush of the wave, the energy, current, the pull and sometimes heaviness of the ocean is a stir of emotions from the sea many cannot understand. Its a beauty to see from afar, it can be thrilling to surf with and for some the water beating on you can feel like the ocean water is washing away someone daily stress.
The ocean is one to be respected, cared for and connected with, she has been with us since the beginning of time. She has seen generations come and go and she still stands with us today. The Ocean is the source to our lives, the ocean has been feeding us with life from the very beginning of time. Her beauty and radiance is one of the many wonders of the world that can never be replaced.
So I just have to ask, why are we killing her in our times?
Don’t we think she will take back what belongs to her after some time?
How many of us can say we are truly ready to detach ourselves from everything that no longer serves our purpose in life?
It can be hard to let go of material items, beliefs, ideas, values and norms that can be holding you back. It can stir up emotions and have you a little uncomfortable for a while but that very moment of uncertainty can be the breakthrough in your life, you have been waiting for all along
Today’s World can throw anyone over the edge if we allow this to happen.
Expectations and comparisons are two of the biggest pains of today’s world. Each day someone is faced with comparison to someone who we think has it all put together. While others are put under pressure of reaching other people expectations which can be unrealistic or become unbearable for many.
It makes many wonder why depression, violence and hate is so strongly existence in our world. Many have become frustrated with there day to day lives they cannot stop to think of another feelings. Many cannot even stop to help a neighbor or worse yet a stranger because we are so caught up in our lives. Trying to meet today’s world expectations and comparing ourselves to almost everyone who seems to have it all put together. When in reality non of us have it figured out because our world changes daily and we have to change our outlook at our lives.
We have to change in small ways that can build a better world. Changes start with each one of us, first accepting we all have different life paths. This will help us stop comparing ourselves to one another. Second small change can be setting our own expectations and letting others know what we can contribute to change situations around us.
Speak up and let your voice be heard even if it stirs up a room. In the end you will be heard for your views and set a tone in any situation that can allow you to have some control.
One of my hopes for 2019 is for peace, happiness and love within our world. Many of us are surrounded by so much hate we have lost ourselves. So many have become so drawn out by our lives we can no longer smile, enjoy a meal with family or find our inner child within us anymore. We have become so caught up in wars, politics and negativity. No wonder so many suffer with anxiety and depression rates are so high around the world.
To my vacation in paradise earlier this year. One of the many sister islands close to me that I enjoy spending time. Sand, sea and less than one hour flight from home. Barbados was a beauty and I enjoyed visiting this island that is so close to my home land Trinidad.
Traffic, last minute shopping with all the rush and little to no parking spots left you would swear its weekend rush. I am not running late with gifts this year but unluckily for me I had one more gift to buy and was caught in all the hassle today.
All the lights, music, food and decorations everyone loves this season it either has a meaning to some or it traditions brings happiness in lives. Christmas movies, children looking forward to seeing Santa in malls and making a wish list for Christmas morning is something that’s a beauty to see. Schools are closed for children in my little island of Trinidad and so many take this opportunity to take time with their little ones, some even get them involved in all the preparation. It was like this when I was young, I found myself helping with all the decorations, cleaning, painting, volunteering and heading Christmas events. All these moments became traditions that has passed along from generation to generation.
Now as a adult I still heavily participate in all the Christmas activities and appreciate this season more than anything. I also have to take a moment and be appreciative as so many do not have that privilege or cannot celebrate this season the same way . Many have lost a loved one, some are without jobs or unable to celebrate with a family member or partner because of distance. This can take a toll and can easily set a tone for a season.
My only wish for Christmas is that everyone finds happiness in everything and keep each moment special this season. Make traditions if you don’t have, smile at a stranger, play Christmas music even if its for 10 minutes, give a meal to the homeless or just relax. Whatever is planned I hope everyone find a little peace, joy and happiness. In the beauty of this season.
Each day is a blessing to truly appreciate the beauty of this life.
This year I learned to appreciate each moment.
This happened when I almost had no moments left.
One accident changed my life when I was at rock bottom. My
world was surrounded by trying to get back to my routine not knowing this
routine was killing me slowly.
Change is never easy and starting over was my biggest fear. But when your
biggest fear watches you straight in the face sometimes it can be a blessing in
disguise for the best.
We are given choices in life and I always believe what we choose determines
our life path and future. Growth takes trust that the universe will work
everything out for the best no matter how difficult it may seem at the present moment.
Each moment is a blessing to grow, love and build a deep awareness of
self and truly learn to appreciate each moment in this life.
This year was a tough one,it built me and broke me. In the end I learned
some hard lessons, had some tough changes and faced some of my fears.
Now I will be able to say to anyone who may feel they lost a part themselves
or cannot deal with changes to embrace the moments and know there is
always an end and sometimes we have to face these difficult moments to truly appreciate life in the present moment.
Embrace the journey ahead with all the highs and lows. Every moment is a blessing and every second is a chance to see what may be ahead once you keep your eyes on the journey. Sometimes we have to forget the destination and remember the process to really appreciate the final destination.
